How to Calculate Cubic Yards
To calculate cubic yards, you need to know the length, width, and depth (or thickness) of your space. Since a cubic yard is a measure of volume, it requires three dimensions.
Formula:
Length (ft) × Width (ft) × Depth (ft) / 27 = Cubic Yards
We divide by 27 because there are 3 feet in a yard, so 3 × 3 × 3 = 27 cubic feet in one cubic yard.
